Keith was injured in 1988. When he couldn't go back to work he went to school instead, at Johnstown. He majored in Accounting and played wheelchair basketball with two current members of the rugby team, Rob and Everette. Upon graduation Keith returned to the Harrisburg area where he works for the State Treasury Department of Pennsylvania. In 2001 Keith was introduced to Wheelchair rugby, and has been hooked since. When Keith isn't working or training to play, he likes to spend time with his daughter: Takesha C. Gilcrist and his granddaughter: Chrisoanna and his son: Keith W. Gilcrist, JR.

I moved to the States in September 2007 with my girlfriend Stacie. Three years ago I saw the documentary Murderball, in Spain we don't have this game, so even before I came here Stacie contacted with the team and in 3 weeks I was playing. I really like this game, I think for being a quad this is the perfect sport, I really enjoy going to practice and I can't wait to be able to play in games. We just have moved to a new house (June 2008), a cute little condo in Mantua, NJ. We like to hang out with our friends, go to the movies (or watch a movie on our 46" new TV) and just enjoy a good talk while we're eating and drinking. This team is AWESOME!! (I'm learning English and "awesome" is one of my favorite words).

AJ has been the manager and a co-captain of the Magee Eagles for several years.
